A sunlit path through a Cheshire pine forest

Nantwich & across Cheshire · in person and online

Some things are easier to say on a forest path than in a chair.

I’m Liz Bunting, a UKCP-accredited child & adolescent psychotherapist working outdoors and in, across Cheshire — for teenagers, emerging adults and adults who find it hard to just sit and talk.

A steady, unhurried space to work things through.

Emerging adulthood brings a lot of change at once — identity, relationships, independence, exams, the future — often alongside anger, anxiety, low mood or grief that’s hard to put into words.

I recognise it’s a big step to start therapy, and that it can feel daunting. Clients often tell me that feeling passes within the first session, and that it becomes far more comfortable than they expected.

Teenagers & young people

From around 16, working with a therapist trained specifically in child and adolescent psychotherapy.

Emerging adults

18–29s navigating identity, relationships and the transition into independent adult life.

Adults of any age

Individual therapy for anyone working through stress, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem or transitions.

Four ways of working

Not everyone can talk about difficult things sitting still in a room — so we don’t always start there.

Psychotherapy

Integrative talk therapy: I draw from a range of theories and choose whatever combination is most useful for you, rather than fitting you to one method. Sessions run 25, 50 or 100 minutes, in person or online.

Psychotherapy with sandtray

Creating a scene in a tray of sand, using miniatures and figures, gives you a way to show what's happening without needing to find the words first. It suits anyone who finds straight talking hard going, especially when anxiety is high.

Some sessions happen walking, outdoors, in beautiful and peaceful spaces including Bickerton Hills, Peckforton Hills and a private wood near Cholmondeley Castle. Moving side by side, with the natural world doing some of the work, often eases a conversation that would feel too exposing face-to-face in a room.

Animal-assisted psychotherapy

Working alongside animals — including Aurora, a therapy dog — gives young people a steady, undemanding presence to focus on. Brushing, leading and simply being near an animal has repeatedly helped clients build confidence, trust and self-awareness that carries over into the rest of their lives.

Where sessions happen

Indoor sessions take place at the Tealstone Therapy Room in Nantwich, a private and comfortable room easily reached by road or public transport, with parking nearby.

Outdoor sessions take place in beautiful, peaceful natural spaces including Bickerton Hills, Peckforton Hills and a private wood near Cholmondeley Castle.

Online therapy is also available, and I cover Alsager, Chester, Crewe, Winsford, Northwich, Sandbach, Knutsford, Warrington, Whitchurch, Tarporley, Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the surrounding areas.

My daughter has been comfortable with you from day one and always looked forward to seeing you. We have seen an incredible turnaround in her state of mind.
